My Weekly Grocery List

groceryshopping list 1

Very frequently, I get asked, “Sarah, what do YOU buy at the grocery store each week?” I used to keep a list on the website of a typical grocery list, but found that over time it changed and I just couldn’t keep up with the changes. So I removed it. Today, I am going to share with you what a current grocery list for me looks like (as of today :)) But please keep in mind that this list changes with my taste buds, fitness goals, the season, etc. I have a tendency to go on streaks of eating the same foods week after week and then switching it up! But some things will forever be a staple….like my brussels sprouts! :)

Vegetables/Fruit

  • brussels sprouts
  • broccoli
  • sugar snap peas
  • portobello mushrooms
  • tomatoes
  • cauliflower
  • asparagus
  • spinach
  • kale
  • butter lettuce
  • sweet potatoes
  • summer sqush
  • zucchini
  • avocado
  • bananas
  • berries

Protein/Dairy

  • chicken breast
  • ground turkey breast
  • 94/4% lean ground beef
  • 96/4% lean beef
  • salmon
  • cod fish
  • shrimp
  • low sodium tuna
  • goat cheese
  • reduced sodium colby cheese
  • shredded swiss cheese
  • greek yogurt
  • eggs
  • liquid egg whites

Other

  • low sodium almonds
  • protein powder (whey and casein – if needed)
  • almond butter
  • quest bars
  • corn tortillas
  • no salt added tomato sauce
  • coconut milk (carton)
  • oat bran

As you can see, I am a huge fan of vegetables! I eat them all day! I was actually thinking about logging how many servings of veggies I eat in a single day! haha I eat very basic, simple foods because I am usually short on time. My favorite quick late night meal is what I like to call my “refrigerator dump salad”! I take any veggies I am in the mood for, saute them up and throw them on top of some lettuce! Ta Da! Dinner! 🙂

*What are some of your weekly staples?

*What is your favorite “quick dinner”?

*Do you find yourself buying the same foods week after week?
